2021 Tryouts

The 2021 WNY Softball tryouts will begin starting Monday, August 31, 2020 and run through the month of September.

Both the NFGSA and the MGSL have agreed on this date and organizations that host tryouts prior to 8/31, will be in violation of this agreement and face suspension from league play.

Effective July 6th the NFGSA will be beginning season play.

Coaches/Players/Fans

While we are extremely excited to start the 2020 Softball season – We request that everyone do their part in taking the necessary steps to ensure you are doing all you can to keep both yourself and those around you safe from the spread of COVID19.

Please ensure that you are following any published COVID19 related guidance. Park, Town, County and State as applicable.

As COVID guidance information is obtained we will post that information under the Links Tab.

NFGSA expects from all those participating the following be adhered to and or specific outlined guidance from Park, Town, County and State. Most granular guidance being Park.

Fans:
Six feet Social Distance when able
Wear a Mask when unable to social Distance
Practice good Hygiene
Stay Home if you have Fever and or not feeling well.

Coaches / Players:
Individual and Team Access to Personal and Equipment sanitizer
Wear Masks in Dug Out – Assumed non social distance area
Masks are not required in the field of play however are recommended to be carried and worn as entering and exiting the Dug Out.

These are just general guides and again Park, Town, County and or State guidance should be followed as applicable.

At this time Please take a moment to review your game schedule to ensure accuracy. Work with your level coordinators to make updates as needed.

Barring any setbacks from NYS the NFGSA Season will begin 7/6/20.

1.) Please contact other coaches in your division to finalize your game schedule. Send games scheduled to your level coordinator as soon as they are known to coordinate Umpire coverage. Don’t wait till they’re all scheduled – send as you get them, especially early July dates. Level Coordinators will enter games on the NFGSA webpage and arrange umpires. Coaches should check the schedule on the website to make sure their game schedule dates, times and location are accurate.

2.) If you are hosting games – For each respective Park you will be hosting at please send you level coordinator the related COVID guideline document for that Park. These will be posted on the Website for coach reference of play expectations.

3.) Rosters – Email a copy of your roster to your level coordinator by July 1. (Player name, DOB, City)

Game balls and rule books are being dispersed.

League Update

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, plans for the season are postponed until no earlier than June 1st. We do not expect that the NYS reopening for Phase 4 will be lifted by June 1st but would like you all to prepare as such.

Any games scheduled in May should be rescheduled at this time. Please work with your level coordinators for rescheduling.

It is the leagues desire to play as soon as it is safe to do so and with a Full season, June – End of July.

All Niagara Frontier Girls Softball Association coaches meetings and league activities are postponed until further notice. We will continue to monitor the current status of COVID-19, and follow the current guidelines from both state and local authorities.
NFGSA league activities will resume when the state and local authorities allow. The safety and well-being of the girls, coaches, and parents comes first.

We are all looking forward to seeing the girls playing softball again!
